A Russian slave from the Gray Dog Clan, known as the Wolfhound, must fulfill his destiny after escaping the mountain mines and caves. After watching his parents and family massacred, Volkodav (Aleksandr Bukharov) becomes Wolfhound, a tenacious warrior who seeks revenge and has, as his companion, a pet bat. Their duty seems to be to protect Princess Elen (Oksana Akinshina) who has the sacred blood and is helpless against her marauding enemies until Wolfhound comes to her rescue. Yet, Wolfhound cannot lose sight of the fact that he made a vow to kill Lyudoed (Aleksandr Domogarov) who is the tattooed villain responsible for brutally murdering Volkodav’s own family and his entire clan.
