A British agent disappears in Jamaica and James Bond is sent to investigate. Bond tries to track the missing agent’s tracks which lead him onto a fishing boat and geological findings for a mysterious island called Crab Key. James Bond meets Felix Leiter from the CIA who helps where he can and vouches that he is with British Intelligence. Bond finds out that some rocks from Crab Key are radioactive and that the agent he is looking for has been murdered. Bond investigates Crab Key and meets Honey Ryder a girl who sneaks onto the island to scavenge shells. Honey and Bond get captured and are introduced to Dr No. Dr No informs Bond that he is a member of SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) and that he is disrupting rocket launches at nearby Cape Canaveral. Bond then has to find a way of destroying Dr No in order to bring the rocket disruptions to an end.
